Bank on LA

The Bank on LA Campaign is a social-marketing campaign spearheaded by Mayor Villaraigosa and the United Way. The campaign raises awareness about benefits of banking. It engages financial institutions that commit personnel and product lines to serve unbanked residents. The campaign focuses on hoods which have the highest concentration of unbanked households in the city: Westlake, Boyle Heights, Pacoima, and Vernon-Central. CFRC will be the lead agency in the Vernon-Central hood of South LA.

What is "Bank on LA"?

The Bank on LA Campaign is a social-marketing campaign being spearheaded by the Office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the United Way of Greater Los Angeles. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the benefits of banking and direct people to responsible financial institutions in their area. It will engage a coalition of financial institutions that will fund the campaign and commit personnel and product lines to serve unbanked residents. The initiative is based off similar efforts in other cities. (Bank on San Francisco, Bank on New York, etc.) To begin, the campaign will focus its efforts in four neighborhoods which have the highest concentration of unbanked households in the city: Westlake, Boyle Heights, Pacoima, and Vernon-Central. Community Financial Resource Center (CFRC) is a major partner in this campaign, and will be the lead agency in the Vernon-Central neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
